The camera may state Unable to finalize disc, or it may complain that the disc in wrong format. Later atempts to finalize the disk may result in being unable to view the video.

Battery Dead

After depressing in playback mode the menu key / setup / information it displays: DVD-R, NOT FINALIZED, SCENES: 0 REMAIN: 0.Now in the camera mode it displays “This is a non-recordable disc”.

Battery Run Down and disc error

A typical set of problems as experienced by some camcord users. Recorded event to limit of disk. The battery may then have run down and a disc error appeared directing reset. Camcorder now won’t read or finalize the disc in battery or AC mode. In battery mode, turned to green icon, camcorder message is to check the disc. Also in battery mode, with the red icon, message is that the disc in not recordable. When min-DVD is inserted in a computer DVD drive, you can see that there is a disc but no files are listed.
